One of the biggest and most respected holidays is approaching, both in Bulgaria and in the whole Christian world - Christmas. In the days leading up to Christmas, young and old alike get excited about decorating the tree, the home, writing letters to the good old man. How we celebrate Christmas Eve and Christmas in Bulgaria we all know, but how many of us are aware of how the holiday is celebrated in Austria?
On November 21, 2023 /Tuesday/ in the Ethnographic Exposition of the Burgas Museum of Ethnography on ul. "How do they celebrate Christmas in Austria? An exhibition of Austrian Christmas toys".
The previously unseen exhibits are from the collections of the Silent Night Museum in Pflegerschlössl and the Waggerl House Museum. Both museums are located in Wagrain, Austria, the birthplace of Joseph Mohr, the composer of the song Silent Night! Holy Night!". For fourteen years now, the Waggrain Advent has shaped the pre-Christmas period in the valley of the Austrian province of Salzburg with its diverse events and guests from many countries. As a tourist destination with visitors from all over the world, the town of Wagrain is also destined to reflect the global message of peace of the most famous Christmas carol, which has been translated into more than 300 languages.

We are looking forward to welcoming Mrs. Maria Wallhoover and Mr. Karl-Heinz Kreuzsaller, part of the team of the Blaues Fenster cultural association in Wagrain. They will immerse us in the Austrian Christmas miracle. The association was founded in 1991, by people with a desire to preserve the culture of Wagrain. .
The exhibition is visiting the Regional Historical Museum Burgas at the invitation of the Honorary Consul of Austria in Burgas - Assoc. Dr. Radostina Ivanova-Mishineva. In addition to a treat for the eyes, a Christmas bazaar awaits you in the courtyard of the museum.
