Final press-conference in Turkey under the project "Common Cultural Heritage without Borders - TOGETHER"

Representatives of the Regional historical museum Burgas participated in the final press conference on the completion of a cross-border project "TOGETHER", CB0005.1.21.139, financed by the European Union through Cross-border Cooperation Program Interreg-IPA Bulgaria - Turkey 2014-2020 It was held in the Turkish town of Kirklareli and summarized the results of the large investments made in two key tourist sites - Akve Khalid and the royal monastery "St. Nicholas" near Kiykyoi, Turkey.

"As a result of the joint work of the Bulgarian and Turkish teams, we have two wonderful tourist sites," Milen Nikolov, Director of RHM-Burgas, pointed out during the briefing, which was given great interest by the media in Turkey.



Turkish participants in the project announced that the ancient city with the famous healing therapies Aquae Calidae as well as Burgas will now be presented at a special kiosk mounted at the Directorate of Culture and Tourism in the center of Kirklareli, famous in Bulgaria with its Bulgarian name Lozengrad.

It was pointed out that the Burgas Museum is an example of the local cultural institutions in our southeast neighbor and that the joint projects will continue to preserve the cultural and historical heritage on both sides of the border with a strong media interest in the Turkish side.

A new cross-border project will be developed under the name of "Living Ancient Cities", which will include the largest medieval castle in Bulgaria - Rusokastro and the restoration of the Neolithic settlement near Aşağı Pınar near Kirklareli.
