Burgas citizens told the story of their families on the International Museum Day Thursday, 18 May 2017 - Ethnographical MuseumBurgas Museum welcomed its professional celebration May 18 - International Museum Day, with two exhibitions in the Ethnographic Exhibition (69 Slavyanska St.). "My Exhibit in the Museum: The Bulgarian Refugees in Our Memory" is the successful end of the first campaign of the initiative of RHM Burgas to attract citizens to exhibit their own belongings in the museum.
With objects, photos and documents, citizens from the whole Burgas region participated and told more about the history of their families. Among the most interesting of them were coins and photos of Tanya Anestheieva, belonging to her grandmother Sultana, who gave the beginning of one of the big families in the Burgas district of Kraimorie. The young Todor Todorov showed a ring and a satin from his great-grandparents who had moved from both parts of Thrace. Most of the objects came from the descendants of the Asian Bulgarians who live today in the village of Lyulyakovo. Among the donors are Veneta Staneva, Maria Purnarova, Maria Shishmanova, Denka Stoyanova and others. Of great historical value are three declarations stating the ownership of the land left in Bunarhisar - East Thrace. They were provided by the young history teacher in Aitos - Nikolay Hristov.
The second exhibition, presented today, was "Destruction and Creation - the Architectural Work of Kolyu Ficheto". It was opened by Prof. Sevdalina Turmanova - Deputy Regional Governor of Bourgas District and Head of Regional Academic Center of Burgas. The exhibition is a work of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Regional Museum of History in Veliko Tarnovo.
