"The Textile and Clothing in Ancient Thrace" for the Night of the Museums in Karnobat on 17 May

In 2019, the 15th edition of the European Night of Museums initiative will be held. It was first organized by the French Ministry of Culture in 2005. For only a few years, the initiative has grown to cover museums across Europe. With the increasing number of museums, galleries, and exhibition spaces in the Night of Museums, the opportunity for the cultural message of this great European initiative to reach a much larger circle of people, especially the young audience, is increasing.

The Karnobat Historical Museum will join the European Museum Night for another year. The event will take place on 17 May and will continue from 17:00 to 22:00 in the halls of the Archaeological Museum with free admission. The program will be diverse and will include an exhibition of bronze artefacts from the museum collection that have never been on display before, a lecture by one of the most famous tracologists in the country - Assoc. Prof. Rumyana Georgieva, PhD, presenting interesting facts on the textiles and clothing in ancient Thrace, as well as interesting folklore and classical music events.
