"Glagolitic and Cyrillic - European alphabets of the 11th century" and "The migration of birds" presented in the Week of Europe

Regional Historical Museum Burgas will participate with two events in the Week of Europe, organized by the Regional Information Center Burgas.
The first is dedicated to the Bulgarian alphabet and its importance for European history in the past eleven centuries. It will involve students from Commerce High School Burgas, who on May 11 (Wednesday) from 14:00 in the Historical Museum (31 Lermontov St.) will learn about the two alphabets - Glagolitic and Cyrillic, their creators and distribution. The young people will have the opportunity to write their names in Glagolitic and reach the origin of our modern letters, that on January 1, 2007, with the intervention of Bulgaria in the European Union, became one of the three official alphabets in the Union.

On the last day of the Week of Europe - May 14 (Saturday), RHM Burgas will award for the fifth time the Cup of Natural History Museum Burgas. This year the theme of the competition is "The migration of birds". The competition will take place on the 14th of May 2013 from 10:30 at Ohlyuva in the Sea Garden Burgas.
