Ethnographic Museum Burgas welcomes autumn with an exhibition on the male vanity

The male world in the early 20th century is a subject of the guest exhibition from RHM Targovishte, which will open in Ethnographic Museum Burgas on 2 September (Wednesday) at 17:30 under the accompaniment of old urban songs.

"I'm Goshko, the Pretty Boy" presents the urban man of recent times (late 19th - beg. of the 20th c.) in his natural environment, on the street and in the restaurants, at the barbershop, café or pub, clothing salon or photo-studio.

The exhibition allows visitors to immerse in the atmosphere of the old town, the romance of those "male time" when to be a "gentleman" was a question of honour and dignity. Male vanity is presented in the form of daily habits, clothing and accessories.

Visitors of all ages can touch, learn or recall typically male crafts such as barber, tailor, barman, bootblack through reenactments displaying variety of interesting and forgotten men's clothes, toiletries, daily attributes such as a cane, rosary, umbrella, cigarette case, pipe, cigarette holder, clock, even suspenders and overshoes.
