The first scientific conference for Aquae Calidae will be held in Burgas on 26 and 27 April

Regional historical museum Burgas organizes the first scientific conference dedicated to the research and socialization of the archaeological site Aquae Calidae. "The Ancient City of Aquae Calidae and the Rock Monastery of St. Nicholas - Opportunities and Problems of the Cultural and Historical Heritage in the Cross-Border Region" will be held on 26 and 27 April 2018 in the hall of Art Gallery "Petko Zadgorski" - Burgas (24 Mitropolit Simeon Str.).

The Joint Scientific Conference is part of the Project "TOGETHER: Common cultural and historical heritage beyond borders", funded through the Interreg-IPA Bulgaria-Turkey Cross-Border Program 2014-2020. The project is implemented by the partners Regional historical museum Burgas and Regional Directorate "Culture and Tourism" - Kirklareli in the period 2017-2019.

The lecturers presentations are divided into three panels: "History and Archaeology", "Restoration and Conservation" and "Tourism". The presented research and data will be summarized in a special full-color edition in Bulgarian, Turkish and English. The book is expected to be released by the end of July this year.

Among the participants with papers in the conference will be Prof. Ivan Yordanov, Assoc. Dimcho Momchilov - head of research of the archaeological site Aquae Calidae, Assoc. Prof. Stella Doncheva, PhD Miroslava Dotkova, PhD Yoto Valeriev, arch. Peev and arch. Donchev, the directors of both project partners Necmi Asan (Turkey) and Milen Nikolov (Bulgaria).
