IX archaeological summer in Aquae Calidae

The archaeologists gave start to the new archaeological season in the late antiquity and medieval town Aquae Calidae - Thermopolis in the Burgas neighborhood Vetren. This monday - June 6 is the first day of this summer archaeological excavations of the bathing complex remains on more than 20 centuries.
For two months a team of archaeologists, led by Assoc. Prof. Dimtcho Momtchilov and his deputy head of research Miroslav Klasnakov will survey the area east of the newly restored bath of Suleiman the Magnificent. The study of cultural layers in this area began in 2015. After studying in depth, the territory will be released for restoration and conservation in conjunction with the intention to create a museum space that will be part of the tourist complex "Aquae Khalid."
The excavations are organized by the Regional Historical Museum Burgas and financed from the budget of Municipality Burgas.
