Chamber concert and poetry for Enyovden in the yard of the Ethnographic Museum

June 24 is the most magical day in Bulgarian traditional culture. In our holiday calendar Enyovden stand beside Christmas, Easter, St. George day in importance. This day has many different names - Yanevden, Ivanden Ivan Bilyober, Yanyovden, Enyovden.[shrink] The holiday is associated with the blooming of nature and is part of those ancient magical ways to ensure health and fertility. It combines three symbolic elements: fire (sun), water and vegetation. On this day herbs have the most healing power and therefore are entwined in a big wreath, through which pass young and old to stay healthy.

Come on June 24th at 10:30 in the yard of the Ethnographic museum to take part in the wreath preparation and go through it for health and luck.
Right after, you will be able to learn more about the Bulgarian herbs in our mini herb garden.

The event will continue with a chamber concert and poetry "Equinox" featuring Radostina Kranteva (opera singer) and Mariana Pramatarova duo "Cheli" from 11:30 in the yard of the Ethnographic museum.
