Poster from an exhibition in the Burgas museum turns into a poster of a Bulgarian library in Lyon

Poster travelled the distance from Burgas to Lyon to inspire our compatriots in the French city where more than 5000 Bulgarians live. In one of the Bulgarian shops in Lyon there is a small library with books in the native language that can be borrowed.

The first set of interesting books for the library is donated by the Bulgarian newspaper "Desant". The trip from the Black Sea coast to the bank of the Rhone the books made from hand to hand through 8 people. Now after the growth of the book collection, the local librarian and long-time journalist, Jean Solomon, decided to place a poster with the library's working hours.

Some time ago, he read in the newspaper "Desant" information about exhibition at the Burgas Historical Museum entitled " In the steps of Father Matthew and his companions." As the Library in Lyon is named after the this Bulgarian Revival leader - Matthew Preobrazhenski, Jean wished to receive a poster from the exhibition, which he turned into a poster for the library with Bulgarian books in the small Lyon shop.

The Regional Historical Museum in Burgas immediately responded to his request and soon afterwards the poster reached him.

The poster includes an image from the painting "Levski and Father Matthew Preobrazhenski in Veliko Tarnovo" by Prof. Ivan Petrov, 1958
