The Bulgarian saint-educator is one of the closest disciples of Sts. Cyril and Methodius, called "enlightener of the Bulgarians". St. Naum was among the spiritual leaders who laid the foundations of the first literary school in Bulgaria’s first two capital cities of Pliska and Preslav, a school that for many centuries radiated cultural impulses to the huge region populated by the Eastern and Southern Slavs. Later on, having been sent by Knyaz Simeon to the South-Western part of the Bulgarian state, he completed a grandiose missionary civilization program in Ohrid and, together with St. Kliment, founded the famous Literary School of Ohrid. St. Naum thus became one of the first teachers, writers and church leaders who shone the light of their spirit over the Bulgarian lands and created the Golden Age of Bulgarian culture.

The exhibition presents medieval literary sources and images of ancient churches and monasteries. Well advocated is the subject on the contemporary understanding of St. Naum's cult, who led to the establishment of many 20th and 21st century churches bearing his name.

The exhibition will open at 18:00 hours, immediately after the start of the Night of Museums. Special guests will be Academician Nikola Sabotinov and Phd.Slavia Barlieva of BAS.
