The first biographer of the Apostle of Freedom Vasil Levski

February 19! Fair or not, the day of his martyrdom death was chosen as the day to honour the Apostle of Liberty Vasil Levski. It is amazing how Bulgarian people, who were devoid of a sense of historicity, have preserved the memory of his honour. And thankfully, because people without historical memory is like a speck of wind...
The theme of Vasil Levski and his researchers are always interesting. Although there are issued over ten thousand titles dedicated to the Apostles, there are still unresolved moments of his life, work and ideological views. Discrepancies between the researchers themselves are often to the detriment of research object. This trend, unfortunately, has not bypassed even Levski himself. I suggest you look at one aspect of the studies related to the life and work of our great hero.
Who was the first biographer of the Apostle of Freedom Vasil Levski?
Who is George Yakovlev Kirkov? He was born in Pleven, graduated from high school Todor Minkov in city Nikolaev, Ukraine. Then studied university two years in St. Petersburg, but due to the heavy climate moved to Odessa, where he graduated. Georgi Kirkov returned to Bulgaria during the Russo-Turkish War and became an official in the provisional Russian government. He participated in the Constituent Assembly and then was appointed the first director of the National Library.
