A traveling exhibition presents "The First Bulgarian Photographers" in Burgas

What is svetlopis and who are the first Bulgarian photographers, is presented by a guest exhibition at the Historical Museum of Burgas (31 Lermontov Str.) Its official opening will be from 5:30 pm on October 30th.
 
The exhibition is a work of the Samokov Museum and was created in connection with the 150th anniversary of Bulgarian photography. This art, associated with the advent of the Industrial Revolution, appeared in Bulgaria at the beginning of the 1860s in the town of Samokov. The history of Bulgarian photography begins with the names of Anastas Karastoyanov and his sons Ivan and Dimitar, Ivan Dospevski, Xenophon Smrikarov, Dimitar Germanski and Peter Hadzhimitov. They are court and military photographers, work in Samokov and Sofia studios, train their followers and set up a school - next to cinema and television operators.

The documentary exhibition "The First Bulgarian Photographers" is in retro style. The old photographs collected in it are loaded with a lot of history about family and collective memory, during the period of modernization and transformation in the private and public life of the native society immediately before and after the Liberation. The author of the exhibition is Nevena Mitreva from the Museum of History - Samokov, photographic processing - Andrey Domishlyarov.
