Malaya Pereshchepina treasure

Visiting exhibition from National History Museum - Sofia.

Presented are gold objects from the biggest Bulgarian treasure, founded in 1912 in the Ukrainian village of Malaya Pereshchepina. The treasure includes gold and silver insignia, jewelry, belt accessories, weapons , horse ammunition, vessels. The original find is displayed in the Hermitage halls because of its exclusive historical value. The treasure belonged to khan Kubrat – the first ruler of the Old Bulgarian state in the 6th century AD.
The objects are part of the only existing copy of the Malaya Pereshchepina treasure.
