Exhibition "Cyril and Methodius' concept in Orthodox Christianity"" Thursday, 15 Sep 2016 - Sunday, 30 Oct 2016 Location: Historical exposition, Burgas 31 Lermontov St.The exhibition "Cyril and Methodius' concept in Orthodox Christianity" was created to celebrate the 1150 anniversary of the Slavic alphabet and the Great Moravian mission of St. Cyril and Methodius. With photocopies of medieval manuscripts, icons, prints, engravings and contemporary books it represents centuries of literary and cultural tradition, an initiative launched by the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius, born in Thessalonica, which in the ninth century created the Slavonic alphabet. It consists of twelve large canvases that show the connection of Eastern Orthodoxy with Cyril and Methodius idea in the centuries. The exhibition was prepared by a team from the Cyril and Methodius Research Centre at the Bulgarian Academy of Science and is made by the artist Ivelina Velinova.
