For the third consecutive year museums from all over the world unite again for the initiative MuseumSelfie Day. In 2016 it was January 20, but in 2017, it is Wednesday, January 18.
Due to the interest in this playful initiative, Regional Historical Museum Burgas (RHM Burgas) will award the authors of the most attractive museum selfies with an annual coupon for free visit to the expositions.
To join in the initiative:
1. you need a phone or camera (for the advanced users);
2. visit exposition of RHM Burgas in the period January 18 to 21, where you can make a selfie with the your favourite exhibit;
3. upload it to the social networks #MuseumSelfieBurgas and #MuseumSelfie;
4. send it to us with name and phone for participation to our e-mail: email@example.com
2017 began with atypical for Burgas and the region, heavy snowfall and already a second week the Bulgarian southern coast is covered with thick white blanket. In this cold weather the Burgas Museum provokes everyone to show their winter good mood and capture in a photo their favorite moment in the company of a snowman. Photos can be submitted between January 11 to 31 to the museum email address for the photo contest "Burgas snowmen".
The prizes for the first three places will be in cash and the outstanding prize will be a coupon for an annual subscription to visit the museum exhibitions in the city. Winners will be determined by online voting at the Facebook page of Regional Historical Museum Burgas. The competition will end with an exhibition of participants in mid-February, when the winners will be announced.

the photographs must be accompanied by the name, surname and contact telephone number;
There are no restrictions on the age of the participants.

On the eve of St. Nicholas Day, the Ethnographic Museum presented a new exhibition. It is dedicated to the thousands of Bulgarians from Thrace, Macedonia and Asia Minor displaced from their homes and forced to take on a bitter time as refugees. The dimension of this phenomenon, collected only in one sentence, became leitmotif of the exhibition: "The storm came with terrible force, uproot centuries-old Bulgarian families in Thrace and scatter around the free mother Bulgaria." These influential words belong to the writer Konstantin Petkanov, born on this date (12.12), who we want to pay deserved tribute today.
The attractive exhibition "Live tropical butterflies" of Regional Historical Museum Burgas is among the finalists in the category "Innovation" of the first annual awards of Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism. From today anyone can support it by voting online at http://tourismawards.bg/cat/inovacii/
In 2016, due to the building renovation of the Natural history museum, the exhibition was moved to Expo center Flora in the Sea Garden of Burgas, where it was visited by over 10,000 people in only two months. The live exhibition of tropical butterflies is already recognized as a hallmark of Natural history museum of Burgas, regardless of where it is organized.
