Seek good and give your attention and your heart to it
Saturday, 21 Dec 2013 - Historical Museum

Christmas is coming! At this time of the year more than ever we feel our souls full of warmth, love and kindness. People are different at Christmas - they are positively charged, their thoughts are festive, people are more tolerant and peaceful.
In our lives every day we come across pain, temptation, the search for a better way. The people we encounter are often unreasonable, self-centered and illogical. This makes us lose our faith, to succumb to weakness. But you must not! In our search for better life we can not do without faith, even when we think we're lost in the world. "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." is said in the Gospel of St. Matthew ...

In the week before Christmas the Orthodox Church, while eagerly waiting for the Young Lord to be born, honors the holidays of five remarkable Christian martyrs.

Regional Burgas Museum supports the "Relics of Saint John the Baptist" in the campaign "The Wonders of Bulgaria"
Tuesday, 19 Nov 2013 - Global

Regional Museum of History - Burgas supports the "Relics of Saint John the Baptist" in the national campaign "the Wonders of Bulgaria".

[/ img] The relics of St. John the Baptist were discovered in 2010 during regular archaeological excavations on the island of St. John by the team of Prof.Kazimir Popkonstantinov, Deputy Head of Research Tsonya Drazheva and Prof. Rosina Kostova, as well as the active support of Burgas Museum. The relics were found during excavations near the ruins of the medieval monastery "St. John the Baptist". It is assumed that in the 4th century the relics were transferred to the island monastery near Sozopol directly from the Patriarchate of Constantinople. Now the relics are kept in the church "St. Cyril and Methodius" at the city center of Sozopol and can be viewed for pilgrims every Sunday.

You can support the discovery by voting for it on
