On 21 June 2010 in the Ethnographic complex (69 Slavyanska str.), Summer School on traditional folk crafts and contemporary applied arts was officially opened. We offer workshops in the following areas:
1. Paintings, prints, stained glass, painting on fabric, making collages, modelling, colouring ceramics - from Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 14:00 between 21st of June to 31st of August. Every week “Armstrong Center” will be presenting new techniques and materials.

2. Ceramics - work on a potter's wheel and creation of sculptures and ceramics – Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 to 12:00 - between 6th of July to 31st of August.

3. Designing own jewellery and souvenirs, clothing decoration (beaded, metal and textiles) - Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 14:00 - From 1st of July to 31st of August.

4. Crochet and Bulgarian embroidery - Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 14:00, between 1st of July – 31st of August.

The activities will be taking place daily from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 14:00 in the period 21st of June until 31st of August.
Happy 24th of May to everyone connected to the Bulgarian culture and educations! Today we celebrate not only the day of the holy St. St. Cyril and Methodius but also this what preserved the Bulgarian culture and mentality all through the hardship among the centuries.
On 11th May, 2010 in the Historical, an exhibition dedicated to 65th anniversary of the end of World War II was opened for the public under the title "The Roads of the 24th Black Sea Infantry Regiment”.
The exhibition includes photo documentary materials and maps showing the Bulgarian participation in WWII during 1944-1945. The Presentation was in collaboration with the National Museum of Military History - Sofia.
Special emphasis is placed on the participation of the 24th Black Sea Infantry Regiment in the period between April 1941 and May 1945. Reconstruction of the command post, original photos, objects and weapons of soldiers who died at the front are displayed for the public. The opening celebration was attended by veterans from Burgas region.
Today took place the ceremony for the prize of Dimitar Brakalov, which is awarded annually for contributions to the development of Burgas and citizenship. This year’s award was given to the owner hospital "Deva Maria" Semir Abumelih. After the award ceremony held at the Cathedral St. St. Cyril and Methodius, prominent public figures and previous prize winners gathered in Brakalov’s house, which is a home of the Ethnographical exposition of RIM Burgas. Previous winners of the "Dimitar Brakalov” award are LUKoil - Bulgaria AD, High School for German language "Goethe", the film director George Dyulgerov, the owner of bookstore Helikon Dancho Panayotov, the present Mayor of Burgas Dimitar Nikolov, the newspaper Cernomorski far, the designer for the expansion and modernization of Port Burgas Alexander Alexandrov, the Head Bishop of Sliven Yoanikii and Regional Museum Burgas.
On 13.05.2010, at 14:00 in the Natural-History Exposition of Regional Museum Burgas, an exhibition entitled "30 years Atanasovsko Lake reserve - the bird paradise of Bulgaria” will be open for the public. The exhibition is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the announcement for a nature reserve of Atanasovo lake. Part of the birds diversity crossing through the sky highway Via Pontica above Atanasovo lake has been captured in the photos of Konstantin Popov. Summary information about the life of these species accompanies the photographs and is going to enrich our knowledge of the bird life around us. The exhibition contains photographs of present and past, when the field station of the Bulgarian Ornithological Centre was first created. The enthusiasts have studied birds already at this time, using the only available methods to them and have entrusted to students all of their knowledge. Visitors to the exhibition can become familiar with the current state of the reserve and the possibilities to feel closer to nature and wild life of birds.
