On September 6 - the Unification Day of Bulgaria, all four expositions of Regional Historical Museum - Burgas will be open free of charge from 10:00 to 19:00 h.

Ethnographic Museum Burgas welcomes autumn with an exhibition on the male vanity

The male world in the early 20th century is a subject of the guest exhibition from RHM Targovishte, which will open in Ethnographic Museum Burgas on 2 September (Wednesday) at 17:30 under the accompaniment of old urban songs.

"I'm Goshko, the Pretty Boy" presents the urban man of recent times (late 19th - beg. of the 20th c.) in his natural environment, on the street and in the restaurants, at the barbershop, café or pub, clothing salon or photo-studio.

The exhibition allows visitors to immerse in the atmosphere of the old town, the romance of those "male time" when to be a "gentleman" was a question of honour and dignity. Male vanity is presented in the form of daily habits, clothing and accessories.

Visitors of all ages can touch, learn or recall typically male crafts such as barber, tailor, barman, bootblack through reenactments displaying variety of interesting and forgotten men's clothes, toiletries, daily attributes such as a cane, rosary, umbrella, cigarette case, pipe, cigarette holder, clock, even suspenders and overshoes.

In exceptional security measures from the Louvre Museum returned two of the most valuable exhibits of the Archaeological Museum in Burgas. Within minutes after transportation artifacts were returned to their places in the exposure of museum workers. At the beginning of the year two French restavratorki arrived in Burgas, to cater for the stone relief of the goddess Cybele, dated from the end of the V century BC and a marble statue of a man (Kouros), dated from the late sixth century BC Kouros headless is known as the earliest statue found in Bulgarian lands - Peninsula Atiya.
