On 4 December at 11:00 in the Ethnographic Museum of Burgas (69 Slavyanska St.), the women of Community Center "Prosveta" from the village Lyulyakovo, will present rituals for the day of St. Barbara and will prepare mandatory for this holiday boiled grains and "good" bread with honey.
This weekend (22-23.11.2014) the Ethnographic Museum in Burgas became a stage of some scenes from the new Bulgarian film "Sling David" directored by Svetoslav Ovcharov.
Prof. Ovcharov is known for his involvement with three of his feature films of Sofia Film Fest by the Sea - "List otbrlulen" (2001) with Merry Kazakova and Ivan Burnev in the lead roles, "The only love story, A Farewell to Hemingway" (2009) with Chris Hyuslar, Gergana Pletniova and Russia Chanev, "Backstage" (2010) with Ivan Burnev Kasiel and Noah Asher.
The action of the new film developes during the Balkan war. The film is supported by EA National Film Centre and the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture.
Lecture on how each individual can contribute to the preservation of the purity of fresh waters and the Black Sea was held on 13.11.2014 in the Natural History Museum of Burgas featuring students from SOUHEP "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" led by their teacher Greta Stoyanova.
In October 2014 the archaeological survey of the [url=http://www.burgasmuseums.bg/index.php?tab=arch&lang=en&page=encyc&enc=poi&eid=26]fortress Rusokastro[/url] has been renewed. The research of the site was suspended due to lack of funds during 2012 and 2013. The excavations this year were funded by the Ministry of Culture of Republic of Bulgaria, Foundation "Rusokastron" and Kameno Municipality. They were organized by Regional historical museum Burgas and lead by the archaeologist Milen Nikolov.
Studies aimed to complete the work at the barbican (fortified gateway) and the tower-well, which were revealed in 2009 and 2010. The archaeologists reveiled the whole southern part of the passage and uncovered another cupola width 8.2 m.
Second donation within a week received Regional Historical Museum Burgas.
First Investment Bank donated to the museum 5 computers. They will find their application for the needs of the current educational activities of the four museum exhibitions - screenings of documentaries, presentations and the daily work of the museum specialists.
