"AUTUMN FAIR OF BULGARIAN CULTURAL HERITAGE AND TRADITIONS OF BURGAS REGION" within the program devoted to the Days of European cultural heritage and the Bulgarian Independence Day.
The fair will present traditional autumn folk festivals associated with harvest and fertility. The starting harvest is cause for joy and gladness.
On September 17, from 18:30, in the yard of the Ethnographic complex, the ritual "Grozdobernik" will be reproduced by dance ensemble "Lazur" lead by Mr. B.Yanev.
The Autumn Festival will focus on traditional crafts - pottery, copper, textile manufacturing panels, lace knitting, basketry and woodcarving.
Bakers, winemakers and honey producers from Burgas will offer their natural products.

Exhibition "Tree with a Root" from 12th SeptemberThursday, 08 Sep 2011 - Natural-History Museum

Fotinov str.) will be able to see the exhibition "Tree with a Root". 15 photo panels with pictures tell the stories of trees, participants in the first edition of the competition, organized by Foundation EcoObshtnost. Among them is this year’s winner – a plane tree
(Platanus) growing in the village Garmen, Blagoevgrad region.
The project "Tree with a Root" is part of the European tree of the year organized by the Czech Environmental Partnership Foundation. The competition attracts people's attention to environmental issues and protection of biodiversity.
The Plane from Garmen was given the right to represent Bulgaria in the first edition of the contest, which took place in 2011. First place went to the Lime from Lelicheli, Romania and the Bulgarian tree was ranked second.

Program of the Ethnographic Museum Burgas for IFF 2011, 22-26 August 2011Saturday, 20 Aug 2011 - Ethnographical Museum
Regional Historical Museum Burgas traditionally participates in the supporting program of the International Folk Festival. At the Ethnographic Museum we set up a presentation of traditional Bulgarian crafts for the participants and guests of the festival.
Following the mission to present Bulgarian rites, traditional culture and crafts, this year the museum has organized the exhibition "Spring-summer rituals in Burgas region," which includes "Nestinarstvo" from the village of Bulgari – recognized as living cultural heritage of UNESCO, "Enyova bulya" from the village Fakia (Strandzha Mountain) and "Peperuda" from the village Lyulyakovo (Eastern Balkan Mountains).
On August 22nd, at 14:00 we would like to invite you to join the Bulgarian craftsmen in the yard of the Ethnographic Museum (Burgas, 69 Slavyanska St.), where two original exhibitions will be open for the public.
Mrs. Bonka Kancheva participates with her exhibition "Fairtale braids", which is bringing together a collection of decorative wall panels and mummer masks created with traditional techniques using colourful braids. Bonka Kancheva is a member of the community "Bulgarian master". Her exhibitions have been displayed in the ethnographic complex "Etara" - Gabrovo, at the National Palace of Culture Sofia and craft exhibitions in Hungary, Slovakia and others. The author will be demonstrating original techniques for braids making.
Mrs.Daniela Voynova will demonstrate her talent to recreate patterns of the national tradition on leather.

On 27 July 2011, at 10:30 in the Historical exposition (31 Lermontov St.), RIM Burgas and Museum Stara Zagora present the exhibition "Neverending Story... Our childhood memories through the characters of Vadim Lazarkevich – artist of Bulgarian fairytale books."
The exhibition presents original illustrations of children story books, paintings, prints and drawings of various topics by the artist Vadim Lazarkevich. Generations of Bulgarian children grew up with his genius illustrations as a part of the story books of authors such as Ran Bosilek, Angel Karaliychev, Svetoslav Minkov, Konstantin Konstantinov, Dora Gabe. The favourite characters of each Bulgarian child - Kose Bose, Rabotna Mecana, Kumcho Vulcho, Patilantsi have been all created by Vadim Lazarkevich.
The Neverending Stories are supplemented by unique child toys (30s-70s of the 20th century) from the collection of Museum Stara Zagora.

On July 1, 2011 (Friday) the fourth group of children successfully completed their week-long environmental education "Adventure at the museum", organized by the Natural History Museum in Burgas and foundation "America for Bulgaria".
The Big Prize for overall participation received Christian Ganchev (11), Alexander Popov (11), Constantin Alexandrov (9) and Ivan Tenev (11). received awards as well.

On June 17, 2011 (Friday) the third group of children successfully completed their week-long environmental education "Adventure at the museum", organized by the Natural History Museum in Burgas and foundation "America for Bulgaria".
The Big Prize for overall participation received Raya Rankova (11), Christian Popov (11) and Gabriela Nedyalkova (12) received awards as well.
