With the honorary award "Golden Age", "Seal of Tsar Simeon the Great" and a diploma for contribution to the development and establishment of Bulgarian culture and national identity, was awarded by the Ministry of Culture Svetlan Ivanov - Assistant Restorer at the Regional History Museum - Burgas. The award is given on the occasion of May 24 - the Day of Bulgarian education and culture and the Slavic script, to figures from various fields of culture and arts for their contribution to the maintenance and dissemination of Bulgarian traditions and spirituality in our country and around the world.
The expositions of the Regional Historical Museum - Burgas on the island of St. Anastasia have been renovated, some of the artifacts have been restored and can now be viewed again.
Among the arranged in the Big Monastery Building archeological finds are the ones discovered during excavations on the South Black Sea coast - coins, stone and iron anchors, ceramic fragments of vessels, preserved amphorae. The island church exhibits present thematic items related to the liturgical rituals - church utensils and books, as well as icons from the second half of the XIX century.
On the Day Of Slavonic Alphabet, Bulgarian Enlightenment and Culture - May 24, all expositions of the Regional Historical Museum - Burgas, will work from 9.00 to 17.00 h.
The rich collections of the exhibitions - Archaeological, Ethnographic, Historical and Natural history offer a wide selection of topics that curious residents and guests of the city can get acquainted with. And in all anti-epidemic measures, which are strictly observed in each of the buildings.
From 11.30 to 13.00 h., for the little visitors, in the yard of the Ethnographic Museum, free conditions and materials will be provided for traditional children's games such as dama, playing rubber band and drawing with colored chalks on the stone slabs in front of the building. There will also be easels with canvases for painting, where the young artists will make their own paintings related to the Slavic alphabet and the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius. Children will be able to have fun and play in the large yard with their parents.
The place where the emblematic for Burgas old building is located - the Brakalova house, offers a pleasant atmosphere and takes us back in time from a bygone era. The greenery and flowers in the garden create an opportunity to break away from the monotony of the cityscape and touch nature - even while we are in the city center.
The Burgas Ethnographic Museum is located at 69 Slavyanska Street in the seaside town.
After the Natural History and Ethnographic Exposition of the Regional Historical Museum - Burgas, the Archaeological and Historical will also open from 15.05.2020. They will work with normal working hours - from 9.00 to 17.00 h. In accordance with an order of the Minister of Health, the visits in the expositions will be carried out in compliance with the requirement for social distance and all anti-epidemic measures.
We remind you that visitors need to wear masks and use a disinfectant that is provided on site. People will enter the buildings one after the other, keeping a distance. In the case of a group of several people, it is recommended that only one of the group buy tickets and the others wait outside the room or in the corridor, depending on the building.
Visitors will be warned to keep a distance in the exhibits - at least 2 m from each other. It is forbidden to visit more than 5 people at the same time in one exposition. Talks have been suspended.
Pursuant to the ordinance of the Minister of Health, in connection with the need to observe social distance and all anti-epidemic measures, the team of the Regional Historical Museum - Burgas calls on citizens to book a visit to the museums in Burgas online, if possible one day before the visit. This is necessary so that the specialists in the expositions have time to create the respective organization.

For now, the Historical and Archaeological Expositions will remain closed to visitors.
