Today the "fossils" again gathered friends of the Natural History Museum in Burgas!

The rare ammonite, aged 136 million years, which was bought from an internet bid with the donation of students in Public Administration from Burgas Free University, is now owned by the Natural History Museum of Burgas and will be displayed in the library of the university until May 16.
The ammoniteis is from the species Crioceratites spinosus - an endemic species known only from a single locality in northwestern Bulgaria. Only 7 findings of these fossils have been found in the world - 2 of them are in museums outside Bulgaria, one in a private collection, 3 are in the National Museum of Natural History in Sofia, and the last specimen can be seen now here in Burgas thanks to the group of students and their lecturer Prof. Maria Neikova.
