On February 6 (Wednesday), the exhibition "60 Year Shipka Park Museum" will be opened at 12.00 hours at the Historical Museum (31 Lermontov Str.).

The visiting exhibition from Shipka National Park presents its history through photographs and photocopies of original documents. The Chavdar Angelov Park Director will tell about the transformation of the former battlefield into a historical reserve, the construction of the emblematic "Monument of Freedom" and the establishment, layout and construction of the park, which began in 1956. In the short space of time, colossal construction activities - the battle positions and batteries are restored, the plates on the battlefield are placed with commemorative plaques. There is a monumental staircase with 894 steps leading to the monument of freedom. The project is by Prof. Mihail Katz, later supplemented by Lyuben Dimitrov and Mara Georgieva. It was only in 1991 that the complete design of the "Monument of Liberty" was carried out, with a thematic exhibition on all its floors. The exhibition will remain in Burgas until April this year.
