This rare item (given to the volunteer soldier Blagoy Georgiev) will be on display on the occasion of the national holiday March 3rd in the Historical Exhibition of the Regional Museum of History in Burgas. The preserved souvenir cups made of solid silver, each weighing 72 grams, are few in number. They were presented to Bulgarian volunteers as a token of gratitude by Russian Emperor Nicholas II in 1903, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878. The cultural treasure was recently acquired by the Shipka-Buzludzha National Park and is on display in Burgas for just one week, from March 3 to March 7. Its presentation to the public (without an official opening) complements and enriches the exhibition arranged in the Historical Museum – "90 Years in 90 Photographs. The Monument of Freedom. A Journey Through Time," also prepared by the Shipka-Buzludzha National Park, which can be viewed until the end of March.
Historical Museum, 31 Lermontov St.
